Ariana Grande Pauses Music to Focus on Acting, Shares Updates on Touring and Future Plans

Ariana Grande isn’t stepping away from music but is temporarily shifting her focus to acting and other artistic endeavors. In an interview with Variety published on Wednesday, December 18, the Wicked actress clarified her plans, explaining that while she’s prioritizing on-screen projects for now, music will always hold a special place in her life—a sentiment she believes her fans understand.

Discussing the possibility of touring for her latest album, Eternal Sunshine, Grande shared, “I’m incredibly grateful for acting, and I think my fans know that music and performing on stage are always going to be part of who I am. However, I don’t see it happening in the near future.”

She continued, “Over the next few years, I hope to explore various artistic avenues, and right now, acting feels like home to me.”

Recently, speculation about a 2025 tour arose after Ticketmaster appeared to list events under Grande’s name. In response, her record label, Republic Records, addressed the rumors on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana deeply appreciates her fans and their ongoing love, support, and excitement.”

In July, during an appearance on the Shut Up Evan podcast, Grande had mentioned the idea of a mini-tour between the release of Wicked Part One on November 22 and Part Two, slated for November 2025. “I think it would be a really lovely idea,” she remarked at the time.

It’s been five years since Grande’s last tour in 2019, which supported her 2018 album, Sweetener.

Meanwhile, Grande recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked Part One, where she stars alongside Cynthia Erivo as the Wicked Witch of the West. Erivo also received a nomination, but in the Best Actress category.
